Freedom Fun Run
The Freedom Fun Run is an annual athletic event held in Alexandria, Minnesota. Taking place on July 4, the event features multiple distances organized by the Alexandria Community Christian School. The proceeds from the race support Christian education initiatives for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 10 km run
- 5 km run
- 1 mile kids run
All races start and finish at Brophy Park, specifically utilizing the Brophy Pavilion for registration and check-in services. The courses take runners past several local geography features, including Lake Darling, Cowdry Lake, and Brophy Lake. The routes also incorporate the rolling hills of the Brophy Bike Trails.
The venue offers indoor bathroom facilities for participants at the Brophy Pavilion. While locker rooms and showers are not provided at the park, the local YMCA is located nearby. Race packets are distributed during designated windows on both the day before the event and the morning of the races. Registration fees vary by distance and are subject to a price increase after June 10. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
