Fredrick Michael Gibson 5K/10K & Half Marathon Walk/Run for Depression Awareness
This community walk and run, held at Rancho Simi Community Park in Simi Valley on October 11, 2026, raises funds for the Free Clinic of Simi Valley programs that support mental health. The event honors its namesake and is organized each year to raise awareness and reduce stigma around depression.

Registered participants receive a T-shirt (guaranteed for registrations by September 27 or while supplies last), a goodie bag, and a custom event medal. Virtual runners receive the same swag and may pick up goodie bags at the Free Clinic between October 12 and October 31. Registered dogs are allowed on leash and receive special event items.
Packet pickup is offered on Saturday, October 10 at the radio station in Simi Town Center Mall near the food court. Pancakes and sausages are provided on event day by local volunteers. The event includes cash awards for top finishers in the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K and age-group awards for the main races. A blood donation mobile and free flu shots will be available at the event.
