Fredrick Michael Gibson 5K/10K & Half Marathon Walk/Run for Depression Awareness
This community event returns to Rancho Simi Community Park in Simi Valley on October 11, 2026. It offers race and walk options across several distances and includes both in-person and virtual participation.

Proceeds benefit the Free Clinic of Simi Valley and its mental health programs. The event honors a young person who died from depression in 2014 and focuses on raising awareness, reducing stigma, and supporting access to mental health services.
Packet pickup is available the day before at 99.1 The Ranch Radio Station in the Simi Town Center Mall near the food court and race day pickup is offered with limited availability. Registered participants receive a T-shirt, a goodie bag, and a custom event medal when supplies allow; shirts are guaranteed for registrations by September 27. Kids receive a special prize for finishing the Fun Run. Registered dogs on leash receive event swag.
Additional on-site offerings include a breakfast of pancakes and sausages provided by the Simi Valley YMCA Y’s Men, a Vitalant bloodmobile for donations, and free flu shots from clinic staff.
