Fredrick Michael Gibson 5K/10K & Half Marathon Walk/Run for Depression Awareness
This community event takes place on October 11, 2026 at Rancho Simi Community Park in Simi Valley, California. Funds raised benefit all programs of the Free Clinic of Simi Valley that support mental health services.
The event is named in memory of Fredrick Michael Gibson, who lost his life to depression. Family members and the community gather annually to raise awareness about depression, reduce stigma, and support access to mental health care. Participants are invited to walk, run, and heal together.

Registered participants receive a T shirt, a goodie bag and a custom event medal, with a T shirt guarantee for registrations completed by September 27th while supplies last. Kids receive a finishers prize and registered dogs receive special swag. Breakfast of pancakes and sausages is provided for participants by the Simi Valley YMCA Y's Men. The Vitalant bloodmobile will be on site for blood donations and free flu shots are offered by Free Clinic staff and volunteers.
