Franklin All Nighter
This is an overnight community run and walk on a roughly one-mile loop in Chapel Hill. Participants run or walk the loop around University Baptist Church and may set personal goals for how much distance they cover during the night. The event accepts individual and team entries and has a registration fee of $35.00.
The route follows sidewalks and makes four right turns: it starts in the church parking lot on W. Franklin, goes to the corner at S. Columbia, continues down S. Columbia to W. Cameron, then W. Cameron to Kenan, and Kenan back to W. Franklin. The church parking lot serves as base camp where participants can rest between laps, refuel, receive aid, and take part in entertainment and activities offered throughout the night.
Funds raised support mental health services for UNC students through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), for UNC student athletes through the Athletics Mental Health and Performance Psychology program (MHPP), and for the unhoused in Orange County through the Street Outreach, Harm Reduction & Deflection team (SOHRAD). Participants are free to leave at any time and are asked to return Sunday morning for a celebration breakfast in the church Great Hall, presentations from the benefiting organizations, and participant awards.
