Franciscan Health Race for Kids 5K Run/Walk
The Franciscan Health Race for Kids 5K Run/Walk in Lafayette, Indiana, celebrates its 10th anniversary as a community event focused on supporting pediatric therapy and NICU services. Held at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, the event offers both in-person and virtual participation options to accommodate different preferences.
Participants can choose from the following event distances and formats:
- 5K Run/Walk (In-person)
- 5K Run/Walk (Virtual)
- Kids Dash (50-yard dash)
The 5K course is open to runners and walkers, with awards presented to the top overall male and female participants, as well as the top finishers in age categories ranging from 10 to 60 and over. Children under the age of 10 may participate for free and can join the non-competitive Kids Dash, where all participants receive a ribbon.
Beyond the race, the event includes a Healthy Family Fun Fair featuring kid-friendly activities at various tables. Families can also participate in a butterfly release to honor and remember lost infants or children, and take part in a NICU reunion that connects families with caregivers. Registration includes a race shirt and one butterfly for the release, provided the registration is completed by the specified deadline for materials. Virtual participants can track their progress using a dedicated mobile application or via manual entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
