Hickory Hustle 5K & 10K
The Hickory Hustle is a community running event in Colfax, Indiana held during Ole Hickory Days on August 1, 2026. The weekend begins with a fish fry on July 31 and continues the following day with multiple running events and a kids run. Participants who register by July 12 are guaranteed a shirt.

- 577 yards kids run
- 3.1 miles 5K
- 6.2 miles 10K
The event is presented in memory of a long time local resident who served the community as a church elder and youth leader and who served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. The fire department is raising awareness of ALS and intends to support the surviving spouse and family. All race proceeds and donations will benefit the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department and the family of the memorialized individual.
The course is described as mostly flat and includes a portion of the Big 4 Trail. Race day registration is available at the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department at 103 W. Main St in Colfax. The starting line is at the fire station and the finish line is at Colfax Christian Church, 314 S. Clark St. After the event, participants may attend a free breakfast at Colfax Christian Church; donations are welcome and will go to Dorcas Ladies.
