Event Overview
The Foy's to Blacktail Trail Marathon is a point-to-point mountain race located in Kalispell, Montana. Now in its eighth year, the event highlights the newer sections of the Foy's to Blacktail Trail system. Participation is limited to a maximum of 100 racers.
Organizers provide bus transportation for participants from Herron Park to the starting area at the Lakeside to Blacktail Trail. There is no parking available at the race start. The course utilizes the local trail network, including segments on Emmons Ridge and Blacktail Mountain.

Course Requirements and Safety
Participants must carry bear spray for the duration of the race due to the presence of wildlife, including bears and mountain lions, in the area. There is a specific time requirement for reaching the Emmons Saddle aid station; runners must arrive by 12:00 pm. To meet this cutoff, participants need to maintain an average pace of at least 3 miles per hour.
Purpose and Series Information
This trail marathon serves as an annual fundraiser. Proceeds are used for the construction and maintenance of the trails within the 40+ mile Foy's to Blacktail Trail system. The event is also part of the Flathead Race Series, which includes several other regional trail races such as the Big Mountain Run, the Whitefish Trail Blazer, and the Le Grizz races.
