Four for the Fourth - Lake Charles
Lake Area Runners organizes a four mile community event in Lake Charles that follows an out and back course along Lakeshore Drive. The course is described as flat and runs from the Police Jury parking area at 1110 Pithon Street along Lakeshore Drive.
The event is open to both runners and walkers. Distances: 4 miles.
Registration opens January 20, 2026 and uses stepped fees: $35 for registrations through June 15, $45 from June 16 through July 2, and $55 for online registration on July 3 and July 4. Age based pricing applies: participants aged 5 to 9 pay $5 (shirt not included) and participants 65 and older register free (shirt not included). Short sleeve performance shirts are provided to registered participants except for the 5–9 and 65+ age groups; shirts are guaranteed for those registered before June 13 and additional shirts may be purchased.
Packet pickup is offered at House of Sole Running Shoes, 3113 Ryan St #3, on the Friday before the event and at the Police Jury parking lot, 1110 Pithon Street, on race day. Parking is available in the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury parking lot and at the Lake Charles Event Center along Lakeshore Drive; participants are asked not to park on Gill Street or on Lakeshore Drive.
This event serves as the final race of a Triple Crown series. Finishers who complete the series are eligible for a series prize to be picked up after the four mile event. Overall male and female winners are listed as receiving free race entries for the organizer’s 2027 races.
The organizer’s policy is that race registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event of lightning or other hazardous conditions the course may be altered, shortened, delayed, or cancelled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
