Lake Area Runners 4 for the Fourth

Lake Area Runners stages a four-mile road race in Lake Charles on July 4, 2026. The course is a flat, out-and-back route along Lakeshore Drive beginning at the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury parking lot at 1110 Pithon Street. The event is open to both walkers and runners.

This race serves as the final event of the Triple Crown Series. Participants who complete the Leprechaun 3 Miler, the Contraband 5 Miler, and this 4 miler are eligible for a special prize, with prizes available for pickup after the race. Overall top male and female finishers receive free race entries for the organizer’s 2027 events.

Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race and on race day at the CCPJ parking lot. Registered participants must present photo identification for packet pickup; immediate family members may pick up packets with identification. Parking is available in the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury parking lot and at the Lake Charles Event Center along Lakeshore Drive; do not park on Gill Street or Lakeshore Drive.

Awards include fireworks for the top male and top female and fireworks for 1st through 3rd place in 10-year age groups: 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Short-sleeved performance shirts are provided to most registered participants and are guaranteed for registrations completed before June 13. Registration fees vary by registration period.
