Lake Area Runners 4 for the Fourth
The Lake Area Runners 4 for the Fourth is a 4 mile out and back road race held on July 4, 2026 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The course runs along Lakeshore Drive and is based at the Police Jury Parking Lot, 1110 Pithon Street.
The event is open to walkers and runners. The course is described as flat and runs along Lakeshore Drive. Registered participants receive short sleeved performance shirts except registrants ages 5 to 9 and those 65 and older; shirts are guaranteed for those who register by June 15 and may be purchased separately for $20.
Registration opens January 20, 2026 and uses tiered fees: $35 for the early period through June 15, $45 for a mid period, and $55 for the final online period. Age based pricing applies: ages 5 to 9 pay a reduced fee of $5 without a shirt, and registrants 65 and older register for free without a shirt. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at House of Sole Running Shoes and on race day at the CCPJ parking lot at 1110 Pithon Street. Registered participants must show photo identification; proxy pickup is allowed for immediate family members with identification.
This race serves as the final event of the Triple Crown Series. Completing the Leprechaun 3 Miler, Contraband 5 Miler, and this 4 mile event qualifies participants for a special prize to be claimed after the race. Overall male and female winners receive free entries for the organizer's 2027 races. The race awards overall winners and 1st through 3rd places in age groups 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
Lake Area Runners maintains a non refundable and non transferable registration policy. In cases of severe weather such as lightning or low visibility from fog, the race may be delayed, altered, or cancelled; race officials will determine any changes. Parking is available in the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury parking lot and at the Lake Charles Event Center; parking on Gill Street between Lakeshore Drive and Pithon Street or on Lakeshore Drive is not permitted.
