Fountains Abbey Wild Trail Runs

This event is the first trail running event held at Fountains Abbey, a World Heritage Site near Ripon with history dating back to 1132. The event is listed as sold out for the 1 February 2026 date.

Distances offered include:

  • 5km Trail Run (Ages 11+)
  • 10km Trail Run (Ages 15+)
  • Half Marathon Trail Run (Ages 17+)

The venue is Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden in Ripon, North Yorkshire. Scenic routes incorporate sections of the Deer Park, the Water Garden, and the abbey grounds.

The event is canicross friendly. One well controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times.

Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North and results are recorded instantly. All distances have a three hour cut off time.

Finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. A custom event T shirt is available for an additional £12 during registration. Parking is available on site for participants and spectators. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
