Fountains Abbey Wild Trail Runs
The Fountains Abbey Wild Trail Runs take place at the Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden near Ripon, North Yorkshire. This location is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a history dating back to 1132. The event offers participants the opportunity to run through scenic areas including the Deer Park, the Water Garden, and the grounds of the Abbey itself.
Participants can choose from three trail distances:
- 5 km Trail Run (minimum age 11)
- 10 km Trail Run (minimum age 15)
- Half Marathon Trail Run (minimum age 17)
All distances are subject to a 3-hour cut-off time. The event is Canicross-friendly, allowing one well-controlled dog per runner, provided the dog remains on a lead at all times. Timing services are provided by Timing Up North, featuring live chip-timing for instant results.
On-site parking is available for £4 per vehicle and can be booked during registration. Finishers across all distances receive a bespoke event medal, branded merchandise, and a snack and drink. There is also an optional event T-shirt available for purchase during the registration process. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
