Event Overview
The FOTA's 2026 Wild Transplant Adventure Fun Run/Walk is a hybrid event taking place on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Organized by the Florida Organ Transplant Association (FOTA), a nonprofit organization supporting the transplant community, the event serves to celebrate National Donate Life Month. Participants have the choice between an in-person experience at Zoo Miami or a virtual participation option from any location.
Participation Options
The event offers two distinct ways to participate:
- 2-mile fun run or walk through Zoo Miami
- Virtual fun run or walk at a location of the participant's choice
The in-person event at Zoo Miami takes place in the morning, utilizing the park grounds before they open to the general public. This route concludes in a private event field featuring music, a photo booth, games, and refreshments. Registration for the physical event includes a t-shirt, a medal, and full-day admission to the zoo.
The virtual option allows participants to cover the distance on a treadmill, in their own neighborhood, or on any chosen course. Virtual entrants receive a race t-shirt and medal by mail, and have access to a downloadable personalized bib.
Support and Incentives
The event supports patient services, education, and research for the transplant community. While there is a standard registration fee, participants can engage in fundraising to earn various incentives. Individuals who reach specific fundraising milestones may be eligible for a registration refund or additional prizes, such as family memberships to local botanical gardens or museums.
