Foster the Family 5K & Family Fun Day
The Foster the Family 5K & Family Fun Day takes place in Cherry Hill at Challenge Grove Park. This annual event is a community gathering designed to support Foster the Family NJ, a nonprofit organization that provides care and assistance to foster, adoptive, and kinship families in South Jersey. All registration fees are donated directly to the organization.
Participants can choose from three distinct events:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Walk
- Kids Fun Run
The Kids Fun Run is open to children between the ages of 3 and 10. For those participating in the competitive 5K, an awards ceremony follows the race, recognizing the top three male and female finishers in several age categories: overall, under 18, 19-49, and 50 plus.
In addition to the running and walking events, the day features a variety of Family Fun Day activities. These include inflatables, face painting, crafts, games, cotton candy, and popcorn. Admission to these activities is included with event registration. There are also raffle baskets available, and participants can earn raffle tickets through fundraising milestones.
The event is held rain or shine. Participants who complete their registration by April 11th are guaranteed an event t-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
