11th Annual Run for Rowan 5K
The Run for Rowan 5K is a spring tradition organized by the Rowan University Alumni Association and Rowan Campus Recreation. This event takes place on the Rowan University campus in Glassboro and offers both in-person and virtual participation options. The in-person race is held on Saturday, April 25, while virtual participants can complete their distance any time between April 25 and May 1.
The event supports the Flying First initiative, which provides academic resources and community support for first-generation students at the university. All proceeds from the race are directed toward this cause. Registered participants receive a race t-shirt and a commemorative full-color medal.

For those attending the in-person event on the Glassboro campus, the race utilizes a two-wave start system to manage course capacity. Wave assignments are distributed during the mandatory check-in period on the morning of the event. Competitive runners are placed in the first wave, while walkers and those with strollers are assigned to the second wave. Timing is recorded via chip time for all participants.
