Fort Yargo Ultra
The Fort Yargo Ultra is a trail race held at Fort Yargo State Park near Winder, Georgia. The event uses a 15.6 mile single-track loop on park trails. The 50K field completes two loops of the 15.6 mile loop while the 25K option uses one loop.
Event date is listed as TBD, 2027 and the public listing shows registration as closed. Previous registration dates opened September 10, 2025 and closed April 3, 2026. Entry fees listed are $175 for the 50K and $145 for the 25K.
The race is fully on marked trails and offers several fully stocked aid stations along the course. Aid stations will carry water, Gatorade, cola, snacks, cookies, candy, sandwiches, and fruit. The 50K runners are permitted two one-gallon drop bags provided at check-in, available at aid stations #2 and #5; runners may also store gear at the Start/Finish area. Family and support are welcome and maps for aid station locations are provided at check-in. Parking is free but limited, with the Area B Pavilion noted as the parking area.
Additional details: runners must print and sign a waiver and bring it to check-in. No refunds are issued, but entries may be transferred to another racer in the same event until seven days before the event. The race provides a marked course, race shirt, finisher medals, timing, free race photos, aid station supplies, awards, and a fresh meal from Moe's Southwest Grill. A canine run is offered with dogs registered in the 25K and starting 15 minutes after the regular 25K start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
