Jefferson Turkey Can Run
The 18th Annual Turkey Can Run is a community 5K held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2026, to benefit the FBC Jefferson Food Bank. The food bank assists hundreds of Jackson County families each year. The event is a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta.
Entry requires a $15 fee plus a donation of 15 canned food items. Registration options include submitting a printed form to the church office or registering online. Race day registration is no longer available. Runners who register and pay by November 20 may pick up race numbers and T-shirts in advance from Monday, November 23 to Wednesday, November 25 from 5-7pm in the church fellowship hall; canned goods can also be dropped off at that time.
Parking is not available in the church lots; participants may park at Jefferson High School, 575 Washington St, which is within walking distance of the church. There will be receptacles at the high school parking lot for canned food donations brought the day of the race. Bottled water will be available before and after the race.
An awards ceremony will follow the race. Awards may be picked up at the church office, 76 Institute St, beginning Monday, November 30 from 8:30am to 5:00pm. A certified route map is available for the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
