Event overview
The 17th Annual Turkey Can Run is a Thanksgiving Day 5K held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Jefferson, GA. The race is hosted by First Baptist Church Jefferson and runs through Historic Downtown Jefferson. The event benefits the FBC Jefferson Food Bank, which serves hundreds of Jackson County families. The course is USA Track & Field certified (Certification #GA24018WC) and is a qualifying race for the AJC Peachtree Road Race. In 2024 the event had 1,069 registered runners.
Entry, pickup and race logistics
Entry requires a $15 fee plus 15 canned food items. Runners who pay by November 21 are guaranteed a long-sleeve T-shirt; shirts are not guaranteed for late or race-day registrants. Race number and T-shirt pickup is available Monday, November 24 through Wednesday, November 26 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the FBC Jefferson fellowship hall. There is no parking at the church lots; participants may use Jefferson High School front parking lot (575 Washington St). Receptacles for canned food donations will be available at the high school parking lot. Awards are given for overall top finishers and by age group, with categories including Masters, Grand Masters, Seniors, and standard age brackets.
