The 5K courses run along the Trinity Trail and are described as fairly flat with scenic views. The 5K is offered as timed or untimed, and a virtual race option is also available. Participants receive event swag that includes a commemorative Fort Worth Oktoberfest beer stein, a race shirt (Lederhosen themed), a custom finisher medal, and a race-specific bib. The event bundle includes a free three-day pass to the Fort Worth Oktoberfest festival.
Event programming includes a costume contest, largest team contest, stein hoisting, and other on-site contests; dressing in lederhosen is recommended. Award categories list 1st–3rd overall male and female, 1st overall masters male and female, and top three male and female finishers across standard age groups; awards must be claimed in person and will not be mailed.
Packet pickup is scheduled on multiple days prior to race day at Dallas Running Company (Plano and Southlake) and Fort Worth Running Company (Fort Worth), with onsite pickup available at the race venue.
