Fort Mardi Gras Fun 5k Run/Walk & Fest : Fort Walton Beach
The Fort Mardi Gras Fun 5k Run/Walk & Fest is scheduled for February 28, 2026 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The event is the 7th annual edition presented by the Beads, Beats & Better Minds Foundation and combines a community 5k with a public Mardi Gras festival. Activities include live music, food trucks, non-food and beverage vendors, craft and business vendors, and a virtual 5k option.
Check-in and the start/finish area are located at the Ferry Park entrance, 56 Ferry Rd NE, while the festival and event site address is 240 Hughes St. NE. Packet pickup is available at Dr. Ed's Nutrition Shoppe, 417 D Mary Esther Cutoff NW, on February 20 and February 21 from 11 AM - 5 PM. Children aged 10 and under may register free with an adult or school participation; child registration at packet pickup is noted.
All race participants receive a custom Mardi Gras medal, with same-day registrants not guaranteed a medal. Mardi Gras best dressed is encouraged but not required. Leashed dogs and strollers are permitted. The event emphasizes mental health awareness and describes the race as a way to promote exercise, wellness, and community support for mental health.
