Event Information

The Fort Macon Mosquito 10K is a race hosted by the Friends of Fort Macon. Funds raised will benefit Fort Macon State Park for projects including the preservation of a baby whale skeleton, upkeep of park trails, and other park enhancements.

Course Details

The 10K distance consists of two laps on the Elliot Coues Trail. The 5K distance is one lap of the same trail. The start/finish line will be clearly marked to distinguish the finish lane from the second lap lane. The Fort Macon hillside will serve as the staging area for runners.

On-Course Support

The course will have a fully stocked aid station with snacks and drinks. This is a cup-free race, so participants must bring their own hydration devices. Runners are welcome to bring their own cooler (alcohol is not allowed in the park), tent, chair, canopy, or other supplies to create a personal aid station accessible each lap. All items are left at the participant's own risk.
