About the race
The Kingston Road Runners Association presents its annual cross country event at Fort Henry Hill on September 19, 2026. The course sits atop Fort Henry Hill, east of Fort Henry Drive, on a well-groomed trail that overlooks Fort Henry, RMC and the city. The event uses a closed course that is also used by clubs and associations.

The 5KXC course is described as a 2.5 km loop with small rolling hills and mostly grass; it is the same loop used for the National Cross Country course in 2018. There will be no water station on course this year; water bottles and pre-packaged snacks will be handed out at the finish. The Kids 1KXC takes place prior to the 5KXC and is part of the Kingston Kids Race Series. All 1KXC finishers receive a KKRS finisher ribbon and the top three boys and top three girls receive medals.
Entry fees for 2026 are listed as $40 for the 5KXC (KRRA members receive a $5 discount with a code) and $10 for the Kids 1KXC. The first 100 5KXC registrations receive a branded beer glass. Awards include medals for the top three overall males and females and medals for the top three in each age category (U19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+).
A team competition for the 5KXC has Open and Women divisions. Teams require four runners, scoring is by placing with the lowest total winning, and ties are broken by the better fourth runner. Team entry closes on 17 September 2026 at 23:59 and there are no day-of team entries. If a runner does not finish, the team is disqualified.
