Forever Young Run - Richmond
The Forever Young Run is for participants aged 55 and over. The event includes an 8K race and a 5K Fun Run. The start is at the Richmond Olympic Oval and the route runs on flat compact gravel along the North Dyke beside the middle arm of the Fraser River.
The event is sanctioned by BC Athletics. Timing is by chip provided by Startline Timing, attached to the race bib. First aid personnel are located at the start/finish area and at two other points on the course. Radio equipped staff will be roving on bicycles. Volunteers are posted at each kilometre marker and at water stations. Water and first aid stations are noted at McCallan Road and Barnard Drive.
On-site provisions include a technical T-shirt, snacks and coffee. After the run there is a social gathering with food, beverages and music. The race is organized by the Forever Young Club, a group mainly of retired seniors that meets regularly for runs or walks and social time afterwards.
