Foot Traffic Flat
The Foot Traffic Flat takes place on July 4, 2026, providing a holiday running tradition on Sauvie Island, Oregon. The event is staged at the Pumpkin Patch and features a rural setting characterized by farmland, wildlife, and flat terrain. The marathon and half marathon courses are dual-certified and serve as Boston Marathon qualifiers.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- Marathon (42.195 km)
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- Quarter Marathon
- 5K
- 1K Kids Dash
- Virtual Race (available between July 4 and July 11)
The marathon course includes a 5.5-hour time limit. The half marathon consists of a single clockwise loop around the island, while the quarter marathon is a point-to-point course with a shuttle service provided to return runners to the main venue. The 5K is an out-and-back route. All courses are chip-timed and utilize a cupless water station system.
A round-trip shuttle service is available from Northwest Portland to the race site to reduce island traffic. Amenities at the finish line include misting tents, snacks, and organic ice cream. Registered participants receive a tech shirt, a custom race bib, and a finisher medal. Bib pick-up is held at various retail locations in the days leading up to the event.
