About the race
The Greensburg Thanksgiving Turkey Trot is an annual 5K run/walk held in Greensburg, PA on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. The event benefits multiple local nonprofit organizations and was established by a community nonprofit to develop the race.
Registration categories include an adult 5K (ages 14 and over) and a kid's 5K (ages 13 and under). Online registration closes at midnight on Sunday, November 22. Individuals who register in person may do so at the Westmoreland County Courthouse lobby on Wednesday, November 25 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. or on Thursday, November 26 from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. Participants who register before November 9 will receive an event shirt; an upgrade to a moisture-wicking shirt is available for $10.
Packet pickup is at the Westmoreland County Courthouse lobby on Wednesday, November 25 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, November 26 from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m.
Age groups are organized from Kids (13 and under) through 70+. A Clydesdale division for runners over 200 lbs. is offered. Awards include top three overall male and female runners and walkers, top three Clydesdale runners, and top three male and female in each age group. Official timing is provided through RunHigh.com and must be selected on registration for a participant to be timed.
The event includes a team CUP CHALLENGE with unlimited team members; the top three finish times per team are averaged to determine cup winners. Team applications must be submitted together and received prior to race day; cup applications are not accepted on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
