Greensburg Thanksgiving Turkey Trot
The Greensburg Thanksgiving Turkey Trot is a community 5K run and walk held in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. The event starts and finishes at the Westmoreland County Courthouse area at 2 North Main Street.
The race was created by five friends and developed through the non-profit Westmoreland Community Sharing. Participation supports multiple local non-profits. There are adult and kids 5K categories and a Clydesdale category for runners over 200 pounds.
Online registration closes at midnight on Sunday, November 22. Registrants who register before November 9 will receive an event shirt and may upgrade to a moisture wicking shirt for an additional $10. Registration fees vary by age category and registration date.
Packet pickup is available at the Westmoreland County Courthouse lobby on Wednesday, November 25 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, November 26 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Age groups run from kids 13 and under through 70 and over. Awards include top three overall male and female runners and walkers, top three Clydesdale runners, and top three male and female finishers in each age group. Race timing is provided through RunHigh.com and the timing option must be selected during registration for a participant to be officially timed.
Team entries compete for cup trophies by averaging the top three finish times for the group; team applications must be submitted together before race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
