Folsom Firecracker
The Folsom Firecracker is an annual community running event on July 4, 2026, held at Lake Natoma Bike Trails, 145 Parkshore Drive, Folsom, CA 95630. Distances offered include:
- 10K
- 5K
- 2 Mile
- Kids Fun Run : 1/4 mile for ages 10 and younger
The 2 Mile, 5K, and 10K are timed events that travel primarily along paved paths of the Lake Natoma bike trails and overlook the American River. The Kids Fun Run is a non competitive distance for young children. Finishers of all races receive a finisher medal. Entries for the timed distances include a race t shirt and chip timing; a t shirt may be added to a Kids Run entry for an additional fee.
Overall and age group awards are presented in the timed races. Overall placement is based on gun time while age group awards use net time. Special divisions in the 5K and 10K recognize adaptive athletes, US military active duty and veterans, baby jogger or stroller participants, first responders and law enforcement, City of Folsom residents, and cancer survivors. Entrants may enter one special division and remain eligible for age group awards.
Post race amenities include complimentary sno cones, refreshments, and vendor booths. Parking is available in surrounding corporate parks. Registration is handled online with youth and military discounts available; cash is accepted at packet pick up and on race day.
