Folsom Firecracker Race - Folsom, CA
The Folsom Firecracker Race is a community running event held on July 4, 2026 in Folsom, California. Timed races follow primarily paved paths of the Lake Natoma bike trails and the tree-lined Jedidiah Smith Bike Trail with views of the American River. All timed finishers receive a medal.
Distances offered include:
- 5K (3.1 miles) - timed event
- 10K (6.2 miles) - timed event with rolling hills
- 2 Mile (2 miles) - timed event
- Kids Fun Run (~1/4 mile) - non-timed, ages 10 and under
Registration for the 2 Mile, 5K, and 10K includes a race t-shirt, chip timing, eligibility for age group and special division awards, and a finisher's medal. Youth participants ages 1 to 17 receive a $5 discount for those distances. Virtual 5K and 10K entries allow participants to run remotely and receive a mailed t-shirt, bib, and medal.
Awards are presented to overall male, female, and nonbinary winners plus top three per gender in age group categories; 5K, 10K, and 2 Mile races also offer special divisions such as adaptive athlete, US military, City of Folsom resident, City of Sacramento resident, and strollers with prizes for top finishers. Packet pick up is available prior to race day at Fleet Feet in Folsom. Free parking is available in nearby corporate parks; participants should observe local parking restrictions.
Proceeds support the Neil Reitman Pediatric Burn Institute at Shriners Children’s of Northern California and Cancer Champions. Volunteers assist with tasks such as registration, course monitoring, water stations, finish line support, and medal distribution. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
