Event

Fly the Flag takes place on July 4, 2026, at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, IN. The event offers two course options: a timed 5K and a non-timed 2K run/walk. The course runs along paths and around the fairgrounds lake.

Registration, fees and packet pickup

The 5K entry fee is listed as $30. The non-timed 2K entry fee is listed as $25. Shirt purchases are separate; shirts are available for an additional $16 through June 22. Packet pickup and race-day sign-in are scheduled the morning of the event.

Awards, medals and policies

Finisher medals are provided to the first 500 registered participants. Awards include Top Overall, Top Master (age 40+), Clydesdale (men 210+ lbs), Athena (women 170+ lbs), and the top three finishers in each age group. Age divisions run from 0-8 up to 80+. The event supports local first responders. No refunds will be given for any reason, and registrations cannot be transferred after February 1. A referral credit program offers $20 back if five people sign up using a participant’s referral link. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
