Fly the Flag 5K/2K
Fly the Flag takes place on July 4, 2026 at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, Indiana. The event includes a timed 5K and a non-timed 2K run/walk on a course that follows paths and circles the fairgrounds lake. The event notes support for local First Responders.
Distances offered:
- 5K timed 3.1 miles
- 2K non-timed run or walk
Entry fees are listed separately for the events. The 5K adult fee is $30, the non-timed 2K and kids fee is $20, and children under three are free. Event shirts are not included in the entry fee and are available for an additional $16 through 6/22; unclaimed shirts will be sold after the run. The first 500 registrants receive finisher medals.
Awards include Top Overall, Top Master (age 40+), Clydesdale (men 210+ lbs), Athena (women 170+ lbs), and top three finishers in each age group. Age divisions start at 0-8 and continue through 80+. Packet pickup is available on race day.
Refund and transfer policies are firm: no refunds will be given for weather or any other reason, and registrations cannot be transferred after February 1st. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
