Event Overview
Florida Five is a multi-day running event held in Central Florida between February 18 and February 22, 2027. The schedule is designed around the week of President's Day, allowing participants to choose to run on a single day, several days, or all five days consecutively. All race locations are situated within 35 miles of the Orlando International Airport (MCO).
The following distances are available each day:
- 50K
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.21 miles)
- 5K (3.11 miles)
Course and Timing Information
The courses are multi-lap, out-and-back routes primarily on paved urban running and bicycle trails. These trails are generally flat and offer varying amounts of shade. Because these are open courses, the public may also be using the trails at the same time as participants. The lap distances vary by event, with the Marathon and Half Marathon laps ranging between 1.9 and 2.2 miles, while the 5K and 10K laps are approximately 1.55 miles. Rubber bands are provided at the start to help runners track their completed laps.
This event is hand-timed rather than chip-timed, and the courses are not certified. Consequently, results cannot be used as a Boston Marathon qualifier. There is a general time limit of approximately 9.5 hours for the completion of the distances.
Logistics and Amenities
The event is organized as a low-key, casual race without traditional race apparel, age group awards, or post-race festivities. It is a cup-less event, requiring participants to bring their own water bottles. Entry fees remain low, and finishers receive a simple medal and a published finish time. All sites provide parking, with specific locations including Kit Land Nelson Park in Apopka and Chapin Station in Winter Garden. Participants include runners, walkers, and those utilizing a run-walk method. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
