Flitwick 10k
The Flitwick 10k is a established road race in the heart of Bedfordshire that originally began in 1989. The event features a 10 km course on closed roads, starting and finishing near Flitwick Village Hall. The route is described as undulating and leads participants through the town and the surrounding areas of Steppingley.
The event offers the following distances:
- 10 km
- Junior fun run
The primary 10 km race is open to individuals aged 15 and over. The course is supported by marshals throughout and is designed to accommodate various experience levels, including those transitioning from local parkruns. Following the main event, a free junior fun run is organized for younger participants.
The location in Flitwick provides road and rail connections to London, Bedford, Luton, Hitchin, and Milton Keynes. For those driving to the venue, parking is available at several designated sites including Woodlands School, Station Road car park, and Flitwick Village Hall. An additional overflow car park is located at the station, which requires payment.
This spring race is supported by Everyone Active and is organized by the Ampthill & Flitwick Flyers. The event aims to provide a community-focused atmosphere for both local residents and visiting runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
