Event overview
The Fleet Feet Fall Classic - Trail takes place in Chico, CA on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The event runs from the South Rim trail head / backside of Bidwell Golf Course in Upper Bidwell Park. Two trail events are offered:
- Half marathon
- 4-mile endurance challenge
Both races start on the south side of Upper Bidwell Park and use single-track trails with a creek crossing and a finish through Yahi and the golf course. The half marathon includes about 1600 ft of elevation gain in the first half and a predominantly downhill second half. Aid stations and limited restrooms are located on course.
Race format and logistics
The 4-mile endurance event is a repeating loop. Runners who complete a loop in under 60 minutes may start another loop when the next round begins. Loop direction changes every other lap. The event can continue for up to eight hours; completing eight loops equals approximately 32 miles. To be eligible for top-3 placement in the endurance race, a runner must complete all eight laps. The winner can be the last person remaining or the first to cross the finish line in a final-hour foot race.
There are three aid stations for the half marathon and two for the 4-mile challenge. The race has removed disposable cups; a reusable HydraPak SpeedCup is available at packet pickup. Awards are given to top male and female finishers in the half marathon and to age-group top-3 finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
