Fleet Feet Arizona Trail Race - Vail, AZ
The Fleet Feet Arizona Trail Race is the 19th annual edition held on February 1, 2026, on the Arizona Trail within Colossal Cave Mountain Park. The event is an eight-mile trail race that starts and finishes at La Posta Quemada Ranch inside the park. Trail-specific running shoes are strongly recommended.
Entry is limited to 250 runners because much of the course is single-track and the organizers aim to minimize impact on the land. Transfer of registration is not allowed; participants who cannot attend are asked to notify organizers so their spot can be offered to someone on the waiting list.
The course is well marked and monitored with directional signs and mileage markers. There are four water station crossings at approximately 2.5, 3.5, 5.5 and 6.5 miles, and bottled water will be available at the finish. Porta-potties are provided at the start/finish parking area and there are men’s and women’s restrooms at the La Sevilla Campground near 3.5 and 5.5 miles.
Timing uses a chip on the back of the bib; the bib must be worn on the front. Without a bib a participant will not receive a time or be eligible for age-group awards. Age groups are in five-year increments beginning with 10-14 and extending to 80+. All participants receive a finisher medal and overall male and female winners are removed from age-group awards.
For safety and trail etiquette runners are asked to run on the right, allow faster runners to pass on the left, and do not use headsets. Rocks, roots and wildlife may be present on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
