The AZT Vail Scramble is a trail event held in Vail, Arizona on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Distances offered:

The courses traverse the valley between the Santa Rita and the Rincon Mountains. The marathon is point-to-point and follows the Arizona Trail (AZT) north toward the Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead finish, with a short dirt road segment and multiple ups and downs along the foothills of the Santa Rita Mountains. The half-marathon follows a similar route. The 10K starts near Sahuarita Road and Highway 83 and runs the final 6.2 miles of the marathon course. All races finish at the Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead on the Arizona Trail.
Logistics and registration
Transportation is provided to each start line on a school bus, and buses return participants to the parking area after the finish. All participants must park at the Vail School District parking area at 13801 E. Benson Highway, Vail, AZ 85641. Registration closes Saturday, April 11. Registration includes finish-line food and beverages, event apparel (custom running socks), a finisher award, live music, gift certificates and gear for top finishers, aid stations with water, electrolyte drink and snacks, sponsor coupons, and radio communications for safety. Discounted registration is available for Arizona Trail Association members, military veterans, Native Americans, and youth under 18. Refunds are not given; cancellations made at least two weeks before the event can apply 75% of registration credit toward events in the Arizona Trail Endurance Series over the next year.
