Event details

The Flat Caps 10K takes place on 12 April 2026 in Sowerby Bridge, Halifax. The organiser is Sowerby Bridge Snails Running Club. The event is the race's sixth year and 100% of profits go to Overgate Hospice; over £2,700 was raised for the hospice in 2025. The race is chip timed, measured and fully marshalled and is a single-lap road race. Entry is limited to 250 participants, with 227 places remaining. Entry fees are £15.00 for affiliated runners and £17.00 for unaffiliated runners; if the event does not sell out, entry on the day will be available for an additional £2.00. A £50 cash prize is available for performances that improve the course records; current course records are Male 37:11 (2023) and Female 44:25 (2025).

Course and facilities

The course is an undulating, hilly road route and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Race headquarters is at Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club, Walton Street, HX6 1AN. On-course and event facilities include water stations, distance markers, toilets, changing facilities and showers. There is no baggage store.
