Flamingo Flyers 5k : Temple, TX
The Flamingo Flyers 5k takes place on September 12, 2026, at Cedar Ridge Park, 3907 Cedar Ridge Park Road, Temple, TX 76502. Due to construction the event will start out of Turkey Roost at the sand pit volleyball area.
The course follows marked turns and mile markers. Runners make a right at 0.05 miles, continue straight at 0.17 miles toward the screened shelters, and stay right at 0.31 miles. There is a water stop and bathrooms at 0.45 miles. The route follows the park circle to 0.65 miles, turns right, continues straight at 0.80 miles, and turns left at 0.97 miles. A water stop and bathrooms are at about 1.01 miles. The course continues straight at 1.08 and 1.17 miles; participants are instructed not to turn into the campground. Runners proceed to the big green dumpsters or dump station and make a U turn at 1.28 miles, then continue straight at 1.35 and 1.43 miles with another water stop and bathrooms near 1.53 miles. The route turns right at 1.57 miles, passes Turkey Roost again at 1.60 miles, and has water stops and bathrooms at 2.01 and 2.56 miles. After a further U turn the course follows signs back into Turkey Roost, turning right into the circle to the finish. Water, sport drinks, and bathrooms are available at the start and finish.
Registration details: registration opens February 4, 2026 and closes September 12, 2026; the registration fee is $25. Early shirt orders close August 28, 2026 with shirts priced at $10 before that date and $15 at the event. Early packet pickup is available September 8 to September 11, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at 108 East Halstead Ave, Copperas Cove, TX. Parking is at Sunset Pavilion.
