Event Overview
The Flagstaff Crest is a 39-mile trail race held in Flagstaff, Arizona. It is part of the Cocodona race week. The course uses parts of the Flagstaff Urban Trail System (FUTS) and the Arizona Trail, blending scenic city paths with high-country terrain.
Race Details
The race covers a distance of 39.1 miles. The total estimated elevation gain is 3,033 feet. The course surface is a mix of single-track trail (69%), double-track trail (18%), and pavement (13%). The time limit for the event is 27 hours. Runners are not allowed to have pacers or crew assistance at aid stations.
Course & Location
The route is a point-to-point race. It starts at Fort Tuthill County Park and finishes in Downtown Flagstaff at Heritage Square. The course traverses the Coconino National Forest and utilizes sections of the Flagstaff Loop Trail and the Arizona National Scenic Trail. The maximum elevation is 7,491 feet and the minimum is 6,633 feet.
Event Requirements
Participants are required to carry a GPS-enabled device with the official course file downloaded. The event is a cupless race, meaning runners must bring their own container for drinks at aid stations. Aid stations will provide water, electrolyte drinks, soda, sweet and salty snacks, fruit, and a hot meal with vegan options available. There are four aid stations on the course.
Registration & Policies
Registration is handled through UltraSignup. Entry fees are non-refundable, but credits may be issued depending on the timing of withdrawal. The event has a Transgender & Non-Binary Policy, welcoming all athletes to register as their self-identified gender, with awards for the top three non-binary finishers.
