KAHTOOLA UPHILL RACE
The GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill is an annual mountain race held in February that raises funds for Friends of Camp Colton and supports outdoor education for children. The event is described as family-friendly and encourages human-powered movement. Participants may form teams of any size.
Race courses include the Cambium Wealth Strategies Fun Climb, the Midway Climb, and the Lumberyard Brewing Co. Öo’mawki Climb, with courses described as ranging from fun to challenging. All race proceeds benefit Friends of Camp Colton and support efforts to expand student access and program development at Camp Colton.
The event features two raffles: the Peace Outfitters Race Raffle with prizes valued at $25 and up, and the Golden Ticket raffle with prizes valued at $500 or more. There are 24 Golden Ticket prizes and organizers sell 240 Golden Tickets at $100 each, with an overall chance of winning reported as 1 in 10. Winners do not need to be present to claim raffle prizes.
Volunteers are needed before, during, and after the event; volunteers receive racer swag and costumes are optional. The event also offers Champ for Camp sponsorship levels, with listed tiers that include Humphreys, Öo’mawki, and Fremont, and notes that sponsorship funds support Friends of Camp Colton programs and long-term sustainability.
