Flag Run 5k : 7th Annual
The Flag Run 5k takes place on July 4, 2026, at Main Plaza, 132 S Main Street, Boerne, Texas. The event grew from a local July 4th run where participants carried American flags and later became an organized 5k.

Each participant receives a t-shirt and a finisher medal. The event includes food, drinks, music, aid stations, and electronic timing. Awards are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall male and female finishers, and separate awards are given to the top three runners carrying a full standard size American flag.
Proceeds support the Boerne Fire Department. Since 2019, $25,500 has been donated to the VFW and the Boerne Fire Department, and a scholarship of $2,500 was awarded to a high school senior for tuition at TEEX fire school. This year’s proceeds will help fund a Wildland Paramedic Unit UTV for the Boerne Fire Department and an additional scholarship for a future senior class.
