Event overview

The 7th Annual Flag Run 5k takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Boerne Main Plaza (100 N. Main Street, Boerne, TX 78006). The event includes the following distances:

1 Mile Walk

Each participant receives a t-shirt and a finisher medal. The event includes food, drinks, music, aid stations, and timed results. Awards are given for overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers, and there are separate awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd finishers carrying a full standard size American flag.

Logistics and charity

Parking near the plaza is limited; walking-distance lots are available at the Courthouse, BISD Office, and Visitors Center. Organizers request that participants do not park at specified nearby businesses. Course maps are available through MapMyRun. Proceeds support the Boerne Fire Department; since 2019 a total of $25,500 has been donated to the VFW and Boerne Fire Department. A $2,500 scholarship was awarded in a prior year. Proceeds for this year are designated to help purchase a Wildland Paramedic Unit - UTV and to fund another scholarship. A post-race celebration is held on the plaza.
