About the race
The Bad Beard River Gorge Trail Race, organized by Bad Beard Events, takes place on November 21, 2026, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, inside the Prentice-Cooper Wildlife Management Area. The event uses the Mullens Cove and Pot Point loops and is staged from the Mullens Cove parking lot.

The course is primarily technical single-track with bluff views of the Tennessee River, cascading streams, rhododendron stands, and towering hemlock. Reported elevation gain is about 3000 ft for the 20 mile, 2000 ft for the 10.2 mile, and around 1500 ft for the 6.5 mile.
Packet pickup is available the evening before at Gearhead Riverside Drive and on race day at the Mullens Cove parking lot. Registration is online only and closes on November 20, 2026; there will be no walk-up registration on race day. Entry fees are listed in the event offers and vary by option.
An awards ceremony begins immediately after the race with overall awards for male and female finishers in first through third place. The Mullens Cove start/finish is roughly a 30 minute drive from downtown Chattanooga. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
