Event Overview
The Bad Beard River Gorge Trail Race features three distances on a trail loop in the Prentice-Cooper Wildlife Management Area near Chattanooga, Tennessee. The course is described as a highly technical single-track trail with bluff views of the Tennessee River and sections lined with rhododendrons and hemlock trees.
Race Distances
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 20 Miler
- 10.2 Miler
- 6.5 Miler
Course & Logistics
The event uses the Mullens Cove and Pot Point loops. The start and finish line is at the Mullens Cove parking lot. The course involves significant elevation gain: approximately 1500ft for the 6.5 Miler, 2000ft for the 10.2 Miler, and 3000ft for the 20 Miler. There are cutoff times for each distance.
Registration & Packet Pickup
Registration is online only, with no walk-up registration on race day. Early packet pickup is offered on the Friday before the race at Hello Monty on Main. Race day packet pickup is at the start/finish line.
Awards
An awards ceremony will be held immediately after the race, with overall awards for the top three male and female finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
