F.I.T. Turkey Trot Trail Race
The event takes place in Cumberland, RI, at the park field next to the Senior Center near 1464 Diamond Hill Rd. There is ample parking near the Senior Center and the race starts and ends toward the back of the park.
The event uses a rolling start, so participants begin at staggered times and must pass through the start and finish lines so the timing chip records their time. Timing is provided by the Orbiter timing system and results are visible live and posted after the event. Participants must wear their timing chip for the entirety of their race.
Medical support on site is limited to basic first aid. Race staff may hold any runner from continuing if they are deemed medically unsafe. Further medical treatment will be requested from local EMS if needed.
Course details and markings:
- Kids 1 Mile: Mostly smooth, somewhat hilly trail with one crosswalk
- 5k: More technical than the kids course, follows green flags and arrows
- 5 Mile: Most technical course, rocky sections and hills, follows red flags
- 4 Hour multi-lap: Uses the 5 mile course and follows red flags
For the 4 hour multi-lap option, only miles completed by the 4 hour mark count; if a runner is midway through a lap at cutoff, the previous checkpoint is entered in results. The event is part of the TrailFecta series, which includes F.I.T. Frills and a holiday theme race; completing all three in the series earns a three piece connecting medal and series registration offers a discount.
