Maggie's Run
Maggie's Run is an annual fundraising event featuring timed runs and walks in the Riverbend area, with activities based at the Medpoint Fitness Centre and McCormick Care Group. The event offers marked routes and virtual 10K and 5K options; chip timing is used for the runs.
The McCormick Care Foundation has a fundraising target of $70,000 for this event. Funds support priority needs at McCormick Care Group, including client subsidies for those facing financial barriers, enriched recreation programs with music, art and animal therapy, safety and technology upgrades, therapeutic gardening initiatives, and dementia programming and research.
On-site activities include a community celebration and wellness fair with a DJ, food and barbecue, games, and a prize and awards presentation. A dedicated Resident Roll/Stroll takes place at the McCormick Care Group location. Detailed written routes are available for the 5K and 10K courses, and a shorter 2.5K walk route is provided.
