First Steps, Big Dreams 5k
First Steps, Big Dreams is a community 5K run and walk held on November 14, 2026, at Sandhill Fields on Sand Hill Road in Georgetown, DE. The event offers a standard 5K run/walk, a competitive walking division that requires participants to walk the entire course, and a youth registration option for those 12 and under.
Registration includes a mandatory fee and options reflect age and division. Event policies state that bibs are non-transferable and that there are no refunds. Due to insurance liability, dogs are not permitted at the venue.
Race services include MYLAPS BibTag chip timing provided by R2R Timing, with live results posted online during the event and complete results available after the race. Participants receive tee shirts and there are post race refreshments and music.
Awards are given by gun time for overall finishers and by chip time for most age groups. Specific awards include top overall male and female, top male and female masters, top three in ten year age groups from 13 and under through 70 and over, and awards for the top three male and female walkers.
