Event details
The First Day 5k takes place on January 1, 2026 in Cane Bay Plantation, Summerville, South Carolina. The race begins and ends at Cane Bay Elementary School. Events offered:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Virtual
Entry fee is listed as $40, with the price increasing after December 17, 2025. A custom super soft long sleeve race T-shirt is provided. All finishers receive a 2026 hooded sweatshirt and free coffee or cocoa after finishing. Fleet Feet is listed as a sponsor.
Course and logistics
The course uses paved multi-use trails in the community and is described as flat. The route loops through two tunnels and passes under Cane Bay Boulevard twice. Runners will cross the Nexton Parkway Extension at a point where sheriff's deputies will be stationed for safety. Walkers and strollers are allowed; pets are not permitted.
Packet pick-up is available December 30 at Fleet Feet Carnes Crossroads from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and on race day at the race site from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM. Prizes are awarded to male and female finishers 1st through 3rd overall and in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
