Event overview

First Chance 10k 2026 is a 10 km road race organised by South West Road Runners (SWRR) in Exeter. The event takes place on 4 January 2026. Course, rules and facilities

The course is a very flat route around Exeter Riverside Valley Park and is traffic-free, with distances marked in kilometres and a cut-off time of two hours. Race HQ is at Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre, Haven Road, Exeter, EX2 8DP. Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, changing rooms and showers; public toilets are also on the Quay. First aid is provided by Western Medical Services. Race numbers must be collected on the day; timing chips are on the back of the race number and must not be removed. In-ear headphones are not allowed; bone conductor headphones are permitted. Refreshment provision uses paper compostable cups and participants are encouraged to use their own bottles.
