First Chance 10k 2026
The First Chance 10k 2026 is scheduled for Sunday 4 January 2026 in Exeter. The event is organised by SWRR and Race HQ is at Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre, Haven Road, Exeter, EX2 8DP. The race is a 10 km route around Exeter Riverside Valley Park. Entries open Monday 22 September 2025 and close Thursday 1 January 2026. Course, facilities and rules
The course is described as very flat; distances will be marked in kilometres by paint lines and distance boards. The course is traffic-free but runners should be aware of pedestrians, cyclists and dogs. Cut-off time is 2 hours. Race numbers and timing chips are issued on the day; timing chips are fixed to the back of the race number and removing them will prevent a recorded time. Minimum age on race day is 15 years. In-ear headphones are not allowed; bone conductor headphones are permitted. Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, changing rooms and showers; public toilets are also available along the Quay. Prizes include cash and mementos for top finishers, age-category mementos, a team prize and a race medal for all finishers. First aid provision is by Western Medical Services.
