Event overview
First Chance 10k 2026 is a 10 km road race organised by South West Road Runners (SWRR) in Exeter. The event takes place on 4 January 2026. Entries open on 22 September 2025 and close on 1 January 2026. The minimum age is 15 years on the day of the race. Entry fees are listed as £16 for UKA members and £18 for non-members. Entry includes a race medal for all participants. The event is held under UK Athletics rules, Licence No. 29783, and prizes will be awarded on chip time.
Course, rules and facilities
The course is a very flat route around Exeter Riverside Valley Park and is traffic-free, with distances marked in kilometres and a cut-off time of two hours. Race HQ is at Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre, Haven Road, Exeter, EX2 8DP. Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, changing rooms and showers; public toilets are also on the Quay. First aid is provided by Western Medical Services. Race numbers must be collected on the day; timing chips are on the back of the race number and must not be removed. In-ear headphones are not allowed; bone conductor headphones are permitted. Refreshment provision uses paper compostable cups and participants are encouraged to use their own bottles.
