Cosdon Hill Race
Cosdon Hill Race is a traditional fell race from Belstone Village to Cosdon Beacon and back, held on 5 July 2026. The route is visible from the start, finishes on the village green and runs over rough open terrain.
The course distance for the senior race is approximately 3.1 miles with a climb of around 300 m. Junior races are organised separately and younger runners have shorter distances:

- Under 11s race 2 km
- Under 13s race 3 km
- Over 13s may enter the senior race
Race headquarters are on the village green by The Tors Inn for registration. Car parking is provided by Belstone Cricket Club and typically requires cash payment of about £1. Juniors may enter on the day for £1. There are prizes for male and female first finishers and for winners in each age category, but no mementos.
The event is run under the rules of the Fell Runners Association and holds FRA classification AS. A compulsory checkpoint is located at Cosdon Beacon where all runners must report their race number to stewards. The race requires self navigation and there are no course markers. While no kit is mandatory, a whistle, raincoat and hat are advisable in bad weather and map and compass are useful for those unfamiliar with the route.
