First Bank Fall 5K & 10K Run
First Bank presents the First Bank Fall Run in the Town of Fincastle, Virginia on October 17, 2026. The event marks the 40th year of the Fall Run and takes place at Central Academy Middle School, 367 Poor Farm Road, Fincastle VA 24090.
Available race options include:
- 5K Run - Youth through age 17; fee $15
- 5K Run - Adults 18 and older; fee $35
- 10K Run - Any age; fee $35
- Pup Run/Walk 5K - register a dog; fee $10
Registration opens July 9, 2026. Some events close registration October 9, 2026; youth 5K registration remains open through race day on October 17, 2026. The organizer states entry fees are kept lower than most races and offers shirt sponsorship to increase support for the scholarship fund.
The event awards $2000 in scholarships to students from James River and Lord Botetourt. Participants receive a custom long sleeve t-shirt; youth and adult sizes will be produced. Trophies are presented to schools with the greatest number of participants and the greatest percentage of students participating.
Early packet pickup is October 13 to 15 from 4:00 to 6:30 P.M. at First Bank, 1245 Roanoke Rd., Daleville VA 24083. Race day packets are available in the Central Academy Middle School gym. Student packets for elementary and middle schools are delivered to coaches the week of the race. Adults 18 and older may volunteer and receive a free race shirt.
