First Bank Fall 5K & 10K Run
The First Bank Fall Run is held in Fincastle, Virginia, on October 17, 2026, at Central Academy Middle School and marks 40 years of the event. The race routinely draws more than 600 local students and adults and is organized to bring children and families together around health and fitness rather than as a fundraiser.
The event offers these distances:
- 5K, youth through age 17, registration fee $15
- 5K, adults 18 and older, registration fee $35
- 10K, any age, registration fee $35
- 5K Pup Run/Walk, registration fee $10, participating dogs receive a pup bandana
Registration opens July 9, 2026. Most events close October 9, 2026; the youth 5K accepts registrations through race day.
Participants receive a custom long sleeve t-shirt in youth and adult sizes. Early packet pick-up is scheduled October 13–15, 4:00–6:30 P.M., at First Bank, 1245 Roanoke Rd., Daleville, VA 24083. Packets are also available on race day in the Central Academy Middle School gym. Student packets for elementary and middle schools are delivered to schools the week of the race.
First Bank awards $2,000 in scholarships to area graduating seniors. Trophies are presented to the schools with the greatest number of participants and the greatest percentage of students participating. Adults 18 and older may volunteer and receive a free race shirt.
