Firecracker Run - Coos Bay

The Firecracker Run takes place on July 4, 2026 at Mingus Park in Coos Bay, Oregon. The event includes a short run for children and an approximately 4-kilometer run or walk for grown-ups.

Distances:

1/2 mile kid's run, 1.5 times around the lake.
Approximately 4K grown-up run/walk, three laps around the lake plus a large hill.

The adult course continues on city streets, descends another Mingus Park dirt trail, and finishes on the paved path by the lake. The course was adjusted slightly from previous years because of erosion on an uphill trail and will be well marked.

Online registration is available. Members are not charged for the grown-up event at checkout; non-members pay ten dollars. Race day sign-up is also available. Volunteer opportunities are offered with various jobs and times.

Organizers have arranged fireworks that evening for participants. A festival in Mingus Park follows the event and is described as family friendly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
