Firecracker 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
The Firecracker event takes place on July 4, 2026, at Morningside Baptist Church, 15001 Bailey Cove Rd, Huntsville, AL 35803. The event offers both a 5K and a 1 mile fun run with on-site packet pick-up available on race day and a pre-race packet pickup at Fleet Feet Huntsville the day before.
- 5K - USATF certified course.
- 1 mile - certified point to point course with no turns and a flat profile.
The 5K course starts at the church and follows the Aldridge Creek Greenway on an out and back route. There is a single aid station located at the turnaround. Post race food is provided by the church in the fellowship hall and will include home baked items. Child care is provided by Morningside Baptist Church during the event morning.
Finisher medals will be awarded and early registrations receive technical tanks. Age group awards are provided by Fleet Feet and Swift Recovery. Packet pick-up times include a Friday session at Fleet Feet Huntsville and a race morning session at the church. Registration windows and fees differ by event; the 5K and 1 mile have separate registration periods and fees as listed by the organizer.
