Firecracker 5K/10K : Bryson City, NC
The Firecracker event takes place on July 4 in Bryson City, North Carolina, with races organized by the Rotary Club of Bryson City. The program includes a 5K and a 10K course that start and finish in the historic town and pass through the Deep Creek Community, the gateway to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. This edition marks the 38th Annual 5K organized by the Rotary Club.
The day continues with a Freedom Festival at Riverside Park, offering family-oriented activities throughout the day and fireworks at night. Additional local activities mentioned in connection with the event include whitewater rafting, a train ride, and waterfall hikes.
Registration opens January 4, 2027 and closes June 4, 2027. Registrations received by June 10 will receive a commemorative race shirt; registrations after that date may not receive the requested size or shirt availability. Proceeds from the race support the Rotary Club of Bryson City projects that address community needs.
