Firecracker 5K/10K, Bryson City NC
The Firecracker event in Bryson City includes a 5K and a 10K road race that start and finish in the historic town and pass through the Deep Creek Community, a gateway to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The races take place at Riverside Park and are scheduled as part of a local Freedom Festival that includes family activities and fireworks in the evening.

Race proceeds will support Rotary Club of Bryson City projects that address local community needs. Registration has set opening and closing dates in January and June 2026, with published entry fees of $42 for the 5K and $45 for the 10K. Registrations received by June 10 will receive a commemorative race shirt; registrations after that date may be subject to limited shirt availability.
Onsite registration and packet pick up are available at BC Outdoors on Main Street the day before the races and at 101 Mitchell Street on race day. Awards include top three overall male and female finishers, a challenge award for any finisher who beats the all time course record, top three male and female finishers in standard age groups from 9 and under through 75-79, and an inspiration award for top male and female 80 and over.
