Firecracker 5K/10K - Bryson City
The Firecracker event takes place at Riverside Park in Bryson City, North Carolina, as part of July 4th activities that include a Freedom Festival and fireworks at night. The event day features family oriented activities and nearby recreational options mentioned by the organizer such as whitewater rafting, a train ride, and waterfall hikes.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K
- 10K
The 5K is presented as the 37th annual running of that distance and the course starts and finishes in the historic town of Bryson City, passing through the Deep Creek Community near the gateway to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Event proceeds will support Rotary Club of Bryson City projects that address community needs.
Registration details published by the organizer show registration opening on January 4 and closing on June 4, with entry fees listed for each distance. Registrations completed by June 10 will receive a commemorative race shirt; registrations after that date may not receive the requested size or any shirt if supplies run out.
