Bunny Run 5K - Sylva, NC
The Bunny Run 5K is a first annual 5-kilometer race held in Sylva, North Carolina on March 28, 2026. Proceeds benefit the Southwestern Child Development Commission and specifically support restoration work on the commission’s historic building in Webster, which is listed on the National Historic Registry.
The historic building was constructed between 1936 and 1938 using locally gathered river rock and originally served students from kindergarten through high school. After school consolidation in the mid-20th century the building transitioned to community uses and now houses the Southwestern Child Development Commission.
The event offers a single 5K distance for runners, joggers, and walkers. Packet pickup is available the day before the race on Friday, March 27 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at a location to be determined, and onsite on race morning from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM. Entry fees are listed on the event page; registration prices increase after March 15, 2026.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
