Event Overview

The Firecracker 10K & 2 Mile Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Lakewood, New York. The event is centered at the intersection of Chautauqua Avenue and East Terrace Avenue and forms part of the local Independence Day celebrations. Participants can select from three main events:

2 Mile Run
2 Mile Walk

Following the conclusion of the races, an awards ceremony is held at the gazebo. All registered participants receive a swag bag, and those who register by June 21st are also eligible for event apparel.

Activities for Children

The event includes a Kids Corner with specific activities for children aged 2-12. A free kids race starts shortly after the main race begins; the distance for this run is determined by age group, ranging from cone to cone. Each child participating in the run receives a drawstring bag with items inside. Additionally, there is a free Money Hunt where children are provided with bags to search for candy and coins.
