About the race
Fifth Street RunSpringa is a six-week spring series held March 25 to April 29, 2027 at Wayne A Grube Park, Northampton, PA. Each week features a trail running race followed by a short track cyclocross mountain bike race. The running course is 1.7 miles per lap; the run is two laps for about 5 kilometers.
Distances:
- ~5 km trail run, two laps of the 1.7 mile course
- Cyclocross short track, five laps
The event alternates direction each week to vary the course. Points are awarded weekly and season standings determine seasonal prizes; a bunny ears crown is awarded based on overall points.
Weekly themes provide variations and small contests. Examples include a week run in the dark when participants are asked to bring lights, a St. Patty's Day pot of gold with scattered coins and a hidden 100 point pot, a predictor run where the closest estimate of finish time wins a prize, a shortcut that requires crawling under a fence, a partnered team night, and a finale with double points.
Post-race offerings include light food and drinks provided for participants; visitors not running or riding are asked for a small donation to join. Bright Path Brewing is a sponsor and provides complimentary beer for participants aged 21 and over with limits. Weather is variable in spring. First-aid is limited on site; call 911 for emergencies.
Registration options listed by the organizer include a season pass through March 4 for $99 with a complimentary season shirt, nightly registration for $20, and a $5 replacement number fee. Parking and some details are listed as TBD. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
