Fifth Street Cross Summer Camp
Fifth Street Cross Summer Camp is a three day outdoor weekend at Kempton Community Center in Kempton, PA near Hawk Mountain. The event combines cyclocross, gravel rides, cross country runs, onsite camping, food, and live music in a single venue.
Friday night features a cyclocross double header and a grass and dirt 5k, followed by a film screening and evening camping. The cyclocross format is a four lap race in one direction followed by a three lap race in the opposite direction; lights are recommended. Saturday offers multiple gravel ride options on backroads and unsupported routes, a four lap 10k and a two lap 5k on the cross country course, a skills clinic with limited space, and the multi lap Sundown Rundown elimination run. Saturday evening includes live music, food trucks, s’mores, and camping. Sunday provides casual group rides and a 10k group run with limited afternoon amenities and a midday camp cleanup.
Onsite facilities include indoor restrooms, tent camping, and RV power hookups for a fee. There are no showers, no water hookups, and no dump station. Participants receive some meals and a complimentary event mug; non race guests may purchase food and a weekend mug. Day of registration is available with a waiver. FSX merit badges and points are awarded for activities and count toward season standings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
