Fifth Street Cross Summer Camp : Kempton Community Center, Kempton PA
Fifth Street Cross Summer Camp is a three-day, on-site weekend of gravel rides, cyclocross-style races, cross-country runs, camping, live music, food trucks, and a film screening. The event takes place at Kempton Community Center and centers all activities at a single venue with onsite camping.
Weekend formats include evening cyclocross races and a grass-and-dirt 5k on Friday, multiple gravel route options and 5k/10k cross-country run races on Saturday, and group rides and a casual road 10k on Sunday. Cross-country runs use the cyclocross course; they are mostly field sections with a creek crossing and contain no paved portions. The Sundown Rundown is a multi-lap backyard elimination run where lap direction changes between laps.
Onsite amenities and logistics noted by the organizer: restrooms are in a building; tent camping is free; van and RV boondocking is free or available with electrical hookup for a fee; 30 amp power is provided from poles; there are no showers, no water hookups, and no dump station; trash must be placed in provided receptacles. Day-of registration is possible with payment and a signed waiver.
Scoring and season points are available through FSX merit badges and standings. Merit badges and many event activities award 5 FSX points each, and gravel ride scoring uses a golf-style place-to-points system for climb tallies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
