2025 Festival Foods Turkey Trot Appleton
The Festival Foods Turkey Trot Appleton is a community running and walking event held annually on Thanksgiving Day. The event centralizes at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center and utilizes the streets of downtown Appleton. Participants can choose between two primary distances, with specific routes designed for each.
The available distances for the event include:
- 5-Mile Run
- 2-Mile Walk or Run
- 2-Mile Dog Jog
The event utilizes a wave start system to manage the flow of participants. The 5-mile participants depart first in Wave 1 from the starting arch on College Avenue. The 2-mile participants follow in Wave 2, gathering behind the initial group near designated markers. The courses remain combined until the 1.67-mile mark at Franklin Street, where the routes split into their respective distances.
A specific 2-mile Dog Jog is available for those participating with dogs. For safety and logistics, dogs must line up in a designated area behind the 2-mile walkers and are restricted to the 2-mile course only. Dogs are not permitted inside the exhibition center during bib and shirt pick-up or on the morning of the event.
Registered participants receive a long-sleeve shirt and a personal pumpkin pie upon completion of their distance. Post-race snacks and pie pick-up are located at Houdini Plaza and Oneida Street. Bib and shirt collection takes place at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center on the Wednesday prior to the event and on Thanksgiving morning.
