FCA 5K
The FCA 5K is a community sports event held at Venice High School in Venice, Florida. This family-focused event supports the Fellowship of Christian Athletes by helping to cultivate high school student leadership. The event features a combination of exercise, music, and entertainment for participants.
Available events include:
- 5k: A chip-timed course open to both runners and walkers.
- 400M Dino Race: A free fun race intended for children aged 4 to 9 years old.
- FCA Virtual 5k: An option to complete the distance at any location.
The 5k race utilizes a gun-start and participants receive a custom race bib and a finisher medal. Registrants also receive a unisex short-sleeve shirt, with options available to upgrade to different styles or materials. A coffee bar is available for participants both before and after the race, and ice cream is provided in association with the children's event.
Placement prizes are awarded for the 5k event across several categories, including overall male and female winners, as well as age groups starting from 9 and under up to 80 and above. There are also specific awards for Masters, Grandmasters, Senior Grandmasters, and Veteran Grandmasters. Packet pickup is organized both on the days leading up to the race at a local athletic store and on-site at the school on the morning of the event.
