The course features varied terrain: rocks, roots, wide trails, single track, wooden bridges, creek crossings, hills and meadows. Conditions can include mud, snow or sun. Headphones are discouraged; if worn keep volume low so others can communicate.
Distances offered:

- 24.5 km
- 16.5 km
- 10 km
- 7.5 km

The 50 km includes specific regulations, with a fixed cutoff later in the day and a requirement to carry a headlamp for running after daylight; pacers are allowed only on the final loop and poles are permitted.
There are three aid stations on course stocked with water, Tailwind and a selection of snacks. The event is cupless; participants must bring their own flasks, speed cups or hydration bladders. Portable toilets are available at the start/finish area. Ample parking is at Batawa Ski Hill with overflow at the Batawa Community Centre; street parking that blocks driveways is discouraged.
No refunds are offered; transfers between registrants are allowed until October 31 at the participants' expense. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers per distance; no participant medals are issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
